Operations Management (FLM403)

Awards and Qualifications

This programme contains the following qualifications: 

* NZ Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4)

Each course successfully completed will be recognised and recorded as individual achievements in your Aspire2 student record of learning. Successful completion of all four courses is required to gain the NZ Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4).


Entry Requirements

You need to be aged 16 or older, and have NCEA Level 2 or the equivalent including:

  • Minimum of 10 numeracy and 10 literacy credits at Level 1 or higher on the Directory of Assessment Standards; and
  • 60 credits at Level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Māori

Provisional Entry

If you are aged 20 or older and don’t meet the minimum entry requirements, you will be eligible for enrolment if your educational, work or life experience indicates you have a reasonable likelihood of success.

If you are under 20 and do not meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible to enrol in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the School of Business Manager.


Student Fees & Allowances

If you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident over 18 years old, or a citizen of Australia, Cook Islands, Niue or Tokelau, this course is FREE! Student Allowances are available for both full-time and part-time study.


Assessment

This qualification is assessed using competency-based assessments. There are no exams.


Recognition of Qualification

The NZ Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) has been approved and accredited by NZQA.

Successfully complete this programme and you can staircase onto our NZ Diploma in Business (Level 5) which leads into management degrees at other tertiary institutes.


Duration

This online programme gives you the flexibility to study anywhere, anytime, full-time or part-time.

The full-time programme takes 17 weeks to complete and requires approximately 35 hours of study per week. Those studying part-time will complete their course in 34 weeks, with approximately 18 hours of study each week.


Course Start Dates

Business Management Programme has set start dates for this course which will be supplied. When you enrol you will get to choose which intake you wish to start on and your enrolment will be processed based on this.


Other Course Requirements

All of the necessary materials you need to successfully complete your assessments will be available through the online platform, Canvas. For some assessments, you may want to do additional research through textbooks or the internet, but you won’t be required to purchase textbooks. You must have access to a computer, a reliable internet connection, and email (preferably with Microsoft Office or compatible programme).
