The Business Management Programmes are brought to you by the team at Cornerstone Education Ltd (part of Aspire2 Group). Based in Auckland we serve e-Learning students throughout New Zealand.

We have been offering New Zealand Business Programmes since 2004, with thousands of students completing the course in that time.

Tess Oregan Byrnes

Tess O'Regan Byrnes

Programme and Learning Design Manager

Tess O’Regan-Byrnes has been on one side or the other of the classroom desk since the ripe age of four. She has worked in educational leadership for the majority of her career and has spent the past seven years immersed in New Zealand’s tertiary education sector, where her primary focus has been on capability and academic development, particularly around the use of technology.

Tess moved to New Zealand 11 years ago, attracted by its natural beauty, great lifestyle, warm weather and lovely people. She has an MA Digital Media Development in Education (Hons) and a keen interest in educational design, particularly in technology enhanced learning. She enjoys creating better experiences for students and encourages them to open their minds and experience the world through a new lens.


Anthony Ling


Hong Kong national Anthony Ling has both the business experience and the teaching expertise to optimise his students’ success and prepare them for thriving careers in the business sector.  Not only did he spend many years building a successful corporate career in Hong Kong – one of the world’s busiest financial hubs – but he also has two decades of teaching experience behind him, as an accounting and tax lecturer at Auckland’s Unitec Institute of Technology. Anthony’s love of teaching, combined with his well-honed business nous and first-rate qualifications make him a top choice for delivering our Business Management Programme.

Anthony is a New Zealand Chartered Accountant and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has a Bachelor of Accounting from Manukau Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration from Brunel University in London.


Clive Cornford


Dr Clive Cornford is an experienced and highly-regarded educator and manager who has held senior academic leadership roles both in New Zealand and his homeland of the UK. A lecturing position at Massey University first brought him to New Zealand back in 1987 and he also spent five years as the Associate Dean for Business at Manukau Institute of Technology.

After originally training as a plant scientist with interests in seeds, pollen and allergies, Clive moved into urban agriculture. Now, in addition to teaching our Business Management Programme, he runs his own consulting business and is involved with a diverse range of projects in education, technology start-up and city food systems. Clive has a PhD and a BSc (Hons).

Karen Tindall

Karen has been with Cornerstone Education, initially as Student Support for business management students, since 2011.

Karen holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the University of Waikato, and a Level 5 Diploma in Quality Assurance from the Open Polytechnic..


Anneka Weterman

Tutor and Brand Manager

“Grab every opportunity you have with both hands, because you never know where it might take you.” 

That’s the advice of Cornerstone tutor and brand manager Anneka Weterman, who is also a firm believer in practicing what you preach. By making the most of her opportunities, Anneka’s career journey has enabled her to traverse a broad and exciting range of industries. After gaining a Bachelor of Sport Management she spent six years working in a managerial role in the hospitality industry, before moving into the education sector as an account manager for the Skills Organisation. A shift from Auckland to New Plymouth opened the door to a teaching opportunity at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand, and now in addition to Anneka’s work as a brand manager for the Aspire2 Group, she is sharing her knowledge and experience with students on our Business Management Programme.


Jackie Curry


She started up the first digital marketing agency in Samoa, she runs her own marketing and events management business, and she has worked for everything from multinationals, to not-for-profits, to small family businesses. If you want to know anything about entrepreneurship, marketing and management, look no further than Jacqueline Curry! Jacqueline has been tutoring business for more than ten years and is a genius at digital marketing and social media. She has worked in a wide range of sectors - both in Samoa and New Zealand -  including tertiary education, business development, small business management, tourism, FMCG & health. Now she is sharing her accumulated wisdom with our students.

Jackie thrives on helping people achieve their full potential through business opportunities. She loves developing small businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship and building capability in financial literacy. She has a BCom in Marketing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Entrepreneurship) and a National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy.  She is also a proud member of the 2015 Leadership NZ Programme alumni. 

Bill 2

Bill Ross


Originally from the UK, Bill Ross has a vast toolbox of business knowledge to share with students. After launching his career as a chartered accountant, Bill moved into management, and more recently consultancy work. He teaches on the Business Management Programme in addition to roles as a consultant and a company director. He holds a BA, a CA and an MBA. Bill’s advice to those considering a career in business management? “Be prepared to deal with ambiguity and areas of grey. In many situations there is not a right or wrong answer or solution to a business problem.”


Frank Weterman


Frank Weterman is a chartered accountant and highly experienced business lecturer. He spent 17 years at Manukau Institute of Technology, as a senior lecturer and in a range of other IT and accounting related roles. He also taught MIS, e-commerce and accounting on the Southern Cross University MBA programme. Prior to joining the tutorial team at Cornerstone, Franklin spent eight years as a public practice accountant in Pukekohe and Wellington. Now – in addition to his teaching role – he works with farmers throughout New Zealand, as financial controller for NZ Grazing Company, an organisation which oversees grazing for over 6,000 heifers. He holds a CA, MMS (distinction) and a Post Grad Dip Accounting and Finance.

Frank says: “Business management is a broad field in which individuals need to bring together a wide range of skills. There is not always a right answer – and a student of business needs to have the confidence to make decisions based on all sorts of learning.”
